Western CofE Primary

Year 3

Tree Skills

In year 3 children focus on Teamwork skills throughout the year.  They are taught what the different roles are when working in a team and what this looks like.  Within the Curriculum there are lots of opportunities for them to practice the different roles both inside and outside the classroom.  An example of this is in Spring 1 when the children work in teams to make Totem Poles.

Children are expected to read regularly at home for pleasure.  They should become fluent at their multiplication and division facts for the 3,4 and 8 times tables.  Swallows library slot for changing their books is on a Wednesday and Swifts is on a Friday.  For information on reading records and other home learning click here.

Home learning goes home with the children on a Thursday.

PE/Games Times:

Swallows: Tuesday and Friday

Swifts: Tuesday and Wednesday

We ask that children have suitable clothing for PE and Games.  The children need a tracksuit when the weather turns colder.

At Western we have an ‘Open Door’ policy.  If you would like to see a teacher please pop in at the end of the day.  We politely request the end of the day as teachers are responsible for their children in the morning however, if it is urgent we will endeavor to cover the teacher.  Feel free to make an appointment at the office.
